Nearly 600,000 SpongeBob fans want ‘Sweet Victory’ performed at the Super Bowl as tribute to Stephen Hillenburg SYFY WIRE

A petition is seeking to honor the late Stephen Hillenburg (creator of SpongeBob SquarePants) in the best way possible, by having “Sweet Victory” sung at the 52nd Super Bowl in February. Hillenburg passed away last week at the age of 57 from ALS complications. “As a tribute to his legacy, his contributions to a generation of children, and to truly showcase the greatness of this song, we call for ‘Sweet Victory’ to be performed at the Halftime Show,” reads the petition’s description.
